Very few careers in Pakistani television run as long or as wide as Faysal Quraishi's. Actor, host, producer, and one of the highest-paid faces in the industry, he has appeared in more than 200 projects and collected over 20 nationally recognised awards along the way.
Quick facts
- Born: 26 October 1973
- Profession: Actor, television host, producer
- Known for: Boota from Toba Tek Singh (1999) and a career spanning comedy, cinema and prime-time drama
- Awards: More than 20 national awards
The boy from Toba Tek Singh
Quraishi first became a household name playing the leading role of Boota in the television series Boota from Toba Tek Singh (1999), a performance that remains one of the defining characters of his generation of actors. From there he built a career that refused to sit in one lane: comedy, romantic drama, cinema, and hosting.
Host, producer, mainstay
For years he hosted Muskurati Morning with Faisal Qureshi, a morning show that became part of the country's daily rhythm, and behind the camera he works as a producer as well. In front of it, he remains a reliable anchor for any prime-time slot: producers know he can carry comedy and tragedy in the same season.
Why he still matters
The industry's working rhythm has changed many times since 1999, but Quraishi has stayed in demand through all of it, a rare example of a performer whose range and discipline have outlasted every trend.
His long run is a lesson in versatility, and the next production is already in the works.
